February 4: Cabin Fever Open House, 10am-2pm. Are the winter blues setting in? Wishing you were somewhere warmer? Kids are bouncing off the walls? Come join us for a Cabin Fever Open House at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center where you can experience some outdoor winter adventure or stay warm and cozy inside with a cup of hot chocolate. DNR staff and Friends of Horicon Marsh volunteers have an array of family friendly activities lined up to help drive away those winter blues. Go on a tracking scavenger hunt on our Short Loop Trail, dissect an owl pellet or make your own snowy owl. Snowshoe (conditions permitting) out to the Storybook Trail, play board games while sipping hot chocolate and eating popcorn or warm up around the campfire. Test your creative side by entering into the “Wanna Build a Snow Animal” contest or try to build a small shelter warm enough for your imaginary hibernating animal to survive. Fell the chill of the glaciers in the Explorium at a discounted rate as well! So get out of the house and come join us at Horicon Marsh for a fun filled winter day!
No registration is required. Please meet at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center located at N7725 Highway 28, Horicon, WI. For additional information please contact Liz Herzmann at 920-210-9054 or elizabeth.herzmann@wisconsin.gov.
