DESCRIPTION:Saturday Strolls: Saturday\, August 9\, 8:30-9:30am.  \nTake a stroll out on the Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Area with a DNR Educator. We will meet at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center at 8:30am and after a quick intro we will hit the trails. With no set destination in mind\, you never know what we might get lost in. The marsh changes so much throughout the spring and summer so be sure to come out more than once. Beyond our limited hearing range\, bats emit high frequency calls to locate prey. Through the combined power of science and technology\, humans have learned to identify bat species by their ultrasonic calls. \nJoin Christa Trushinsky from the Wisconsin Bat Program to learn more about bioacoustics monitoring and how it is being used in the conservation efforts of Wisconsin’s bat population. Early career as a Television Producer/Director/Writer\, 40 years as a free-lance writer\, story teller\, author\, business owner. He has been a student of family lore and local history for 35 years. Retired living in Theresa and writing about the land that he loves.
