DESCRIPTION:Campfire Stories: Bats: Friday\, August 28th 6:30-8pm \nGather the family and spend some time together around the campfire as we share stories at the Horicon Marsh. Each month we will have a different topic that we explore through books\, crafts\, and adventure. DESCRIPTION:Birding Old Marsh Road: Sunday\, August 30\, 8-11am (Leslie\, Jeff\, Michael\, and Brad to lead) \nThis is the last weekend that Old Marsh Road is open to the public! Join members of the Horicon Marsh Bird Club for one last hurrah through this beautiful area! Viewing highlights in August include multiple species of water birds such as black-necked stilts\, American bittern\, and common gallinule. Shorebird migration has begun by this time\, so we will search for plovers\, sandpipers\, dowitchers\, stilts and more! You will be walking gravel dike tops\, up to 3 miles. Wear good walking shoes and bring water. \nMeet at the East end of Old Marsh Road at the intersection of Point Road North and Point Road West. DESCRIPTION:Birding Mayville’s Ziegler Park: Saturday\, September 19\, 8-10am (Brad and Michael to lead) \nSince “discovering” this 70-acre gem\, it has been a superstar birding location (174 species e-Birded here). Ziegler Park has 72.3 acres of parkland; most of the parkland is mature wooded forest along the east branch of the Rock River with a 1.5-mile nature trail. This Mayville City Park is a great spot for many birds but particularly warblers in the spring.
