They are critical to healthy ecosystems and agriculture\, with at least 75% of flowering plants relying on them. Populations are currently declining so grab a net and magnifying glass as we try to catch and release some of our pollinator friends and go on the hunt for monarch eggs. \nNo registration is required.  The Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center is located at N7725 Highway 28\, Horicon\, WI. Join members of the Horicon Marsh Bird Club for one last hurrah through this beautiful area! Viewing highlights in August include multiple species of water birds such as black-necked stilts\, American bittern\, and common gallinule. Shorebird migration has begun by this time\, so we will search for plovers\, sandpipers\, dowitchers\, stilts and more! You will be walking gravel dike tops\, up to 3 miles. Wear good walking shoes and bring water. \nMeet at the East end of Old Marsh Road at the intersection of Point Road North and Point Road West. DESCRIPTION:Birding Mayville’s Ziegler Park: Saturday\, September 19\, 8-10am (Brad and Michael to lead) \nSince “discovering” this 70-acre gem\, it has been a superstar birding location (174 species e-Birded here). Ziegler Park has 72.3 acres of parkland; most of the parkland is mature wooded forest along the east branch of the Rock River with a 1.5-mile nature trail. This Mayville City Park is a great spot for many birds but particularly warblers in the spring.
