DESCRIPTION:Join DNR wildlife educator\, Liz Herzmann\, DNR assistant wildlife educator\, Caleb Jenks and Bird Club President\, Jeff Bahls\, on a guided canoe or kayak of Horicon Marsh State Wildlife Area at sunset. This will be an out and back paddle starting from the Nebraska Street Boat Landing in Horicon.  Pre-registration required and $15 fee per person. Free to Friends of Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center Members. Limit of 20 participants. 2-3 mile paddle.  No bathroom facilities. \nContact Liz Herzmann at 920-387-7893 or elizabeth.herzmann@wisconsin.gov for information.\nMust provide own kayak/canoe\, paddle\, PFD. Paddling experience is required.

DESCRIPTION:Special Stories at the Marsh!  Join local author\, Jeff McKean\, for a special reading of his book “Fly Mr. Butterfly”.  In this story\, a boy and his friends follow\, observe and learn about a butterfly known as Mr. Butterfly.  Through this encounter\, the reader will get a close look at how monarch butterflies survive in their environment. \nThen join us for a fun craft and watch as a monarch gets tagged and is released for their journey to Mexico! \nEvent will be held following current COVID social distancing requirements.  No registration is required.  Please meet in front of the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center located at N7725 Highway 28\, Horicon\, WI.  For additional information please contact Liz Herzmann at 920-210-9054 or elizabeth.herzmann@wisconsin.gov. \n  \n
