SUMMARY:The World Around Us: Science Labs: Telemetry in Action
DESCRIPTION:The World Around Us: Science Labs are biweekly\, open house\, drop-in programs designed for all age participants. All events will be held outdoors except for severe weather. Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes/boots designed for walking on gravel trails. Each program will include 1) information about the subject\, 2) a book reading\, 3) a craft\, 4) greeting card making\, and 5) an activity. \nThe World Around Us: Science Labs: Telemetry in Action\, Tuesday July 14\, 9am-12pm \nIf the land could talk\, what would it tell us about the last 250 years? Understand how the population of our now national symbol\, the bald eagle\, was decimated due to chemicals and changes to the land.  The Endangered Species Act helped the eagle and many other species.  Come be a wildlife biologist and try your hand at using the same telemetry equipment staff use to track threatened and endangered species.  Learn about the carbon\, nitrogen\, and water cycle while calculating your carbon footprint. \nNo registration is required.  The Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center is located at N7725 Highway 28\, Horicon\, WI. For additional information please contact Liz Herzmann at 920-210-9054 or elizabeth.herzmann@wisconsin.gov.
